Default Will a Warrior Work?

i have a 2003 yami blaster soon to be a 40 hp 240, and my dad has a polaris magnum 325. we go riding a lot at sand lake and plan to go to other places in the oregon dunes. only problem is, as im sure you noticed, the 325. its a tank. my dad has been riding bikes for many years and this is his first quad, hes had it for about 4 years. hes not gonna be afraid of whatever he gets, but he definately needs a new quad for the dunes. im getting tired of having to wait for him to find another way up or even just keep up with me on a straight. anyway, i was looking at warriors. would a warrior be that much better than his polaris? i know it would weigh a lot less and the manual tranny would be nice and it makes more power, but would it be enough to keep up with me? also, he doesnt like the look of the warrior, so have you seen any that look different than stock (cooler) and would you be able to do something like take out the headlights and put in a grille there, thats the main part he doesnt like. or can you suggest anything that would work instead of a warrior? thanx

The Warrior is a great duner. I have no problem flying up any dune that my buddies on Raptors, Pedators, and 400exs go up. The only thing you have to do is change the stock baloon tires, get something with better grip, and dunes will not be a problem. As far as changing it up, you could probably get creative and come up with something, but everyone will always know its a Warrior. They're not the nicest looking quads, but it kind of gives them character. You could probably find a good used 400ex for around the same price, and that would also be a very capable all around quad. Both are very newbie friendly quads.

Cut the fenders on a warrior and change out those tires. Take a look at my gallery. Mine is much more attractive with the fenders cut. Warriors are great machines cant go wrong with em.

what about suspension? if its soft, good, thats the thing he likes the most about his magnum. if theyre not soft, stock, do they have preload adjustment or anything to make it softer?

warrior has 18hp stock, tops out in high 50s or low 60s, and a fairly plush ride. If you want to know how fast it is, its about the same stock as a piped blaster. with equal rider weights.

A used 400ex would be a better buy than a new warrior.
