turning radius
#1
i have an 03 blaster right now, soon to be sold for money towards a banshee or raptor. anyway, one thing i noticed about it is the turning radius is really big. at least big compared to my last bike (honda recon) that thing could turn on a dime. is this some kind of high speed safety thing, like so youre not going full speed and hit something and it bump steers you and you flip over forwards or what? and does anyone know if a banshee or raptor would be the same.... or worse?!

damn.... it keeps getting worse and worse. im trying to find out what i want, a raptor or a shee. i was leanin toward shee, but the raptor has all these little things... reverse, its taller, newer, sounds cool... not cooler, just different, and now this. well what do you think? its mainly for dunes.

jonny, most of those people beat the crap out of their quad just to get to the finish line, most are racers. and when you are rough on anything, things come loose. that's ok if you have the money to fix it, but most dont. if you maintain your raptor or banshee right and don't abuse it, it should be pretty problem free. a well cared for atv will usually last a long time with no real trouble. My blaster was a complete screwup, nobody put it together right at all and it had a lot of problems BUT there are thousands of blasters that havn't missed a click in 10 years so don't worry so much. as for your raptor/banshee desicions- if your using it for dunes then does reverse really matter? raptors have so much torq on the low end and banshees have blistering mid and top end revs. if i were you i would go with the banshee b/c it's faster out of the box than the raptor and you can make it REALLY fast with some mods. Raptors top out faster than banshee's but banshee's come back in the end. it's all up to you, 4 stroke or 2 stroke. they are both aswesome dune machines. and and if you are worried about turning radiuses just point and gas it, the back end will come around for you.

well i guess i dont have to worry about anything like things breaking, i usually treat my stuff really good. i think ill probably go with the banshee cause its more what im looking for really. a raptor would be nice, but i rode my blaster today and i got off afterwards and said, "yeah, i need to get a 2 stroke." so yeah, i think thats probably what im gonna do. even though it wont be as nice in trails as a raptor, i can deal with it, and the banshee has a lot more potential and its just got that cool 2 stroke sound and engine response to it. one thing i was wondering about is what is the range of a stock banshee, i mean being a 2 stroke twin i have a feeling it sucks gas down pretty fast. also, around here theyre pretty strict about noise, and i know a stock banshee will pass, but its close, and the first thing i want to do is get some pipes for it and i know thatll make it a lot louder, so whats a good pipe that isnt too loud? thanks for all your help. ill tell you what i end up with.
