Hossblur if your going to race up hills you want to add a few in the back depending on hill size and tire size..... buy a cheap metal sprocket for 15 bucks like a 42 then see what you think...... worst it could cost you is 50 bucks or so to get it right.......

I just changed my rear, now running 12/42, with 22-11-10, dirt and sand. With the 12/40 on 22's, you lose alittle bottom but gain top, for the hills and trails a 42 will get you back where you were before. If I'm not correct on this, somebody can call me on it.

I went up one in the front and dropped two in the rear for 13-38. With a full BG pipe and jets/filter I really enjoyed the increased top end for flying across the dunes. I also ran paddles, and found when dragging I grabbed my holeshots when starting in first. Caused some wheel spin, but second was now too tall. Maybe if I had a good clutch...... Dirtwheels did a good article a few months back on gearing and engine mode combos.

Raptor03 I got an example of gearing for the 12/42 for ya. At winchester bay theres a hill there thats rumored 400 - 500 ft tall (probably pretty true) and it goes through the trees so you do have to let off but anyways with a 12 tooth up front I could on pull second by the top and now with the 12/42 gearing I can flat out haul a$$ up that hill. Im pinned in 3rd if I really wanna fly up it or I can just come out a pretty sharp corner and just ride a wheelie up the rest in 3rd pretty easily. I duno if that helps ya tho cuz you gotta 686 ....
