Banshee or YZF450 ??
I am looking to buy a quad to ride in the dunes that would be good all around.
I have looked at Banshee's and Raptor's but would pick the Banshee over the Raptor .
Not that the Raptor is'nt great but I like the Banshee better , just my opinion.
I would like to know if the YZF450 is a good dune machine.
All my buddies have modded Banshee's and I had a sandrail , that I just sold.
Some of these guys have over $8 g's in there Banshees and about average I would say.
Would a piped YZF450 be able to hang with these guys ? and do good in the sand?

8 grand in a shee vs a piped YFZ, in a drag?, its not really even comparable. the shee would tear the YFZ apart no prob. stock?, pretty even race. i was thinking about the same thing. but when u think about it the shee is better. throw $1100 worth of good suspention, $600 pipes. and if u dont mind doing top ends a lil more often. shave the sh*t out of the head. it gives u pretty good power for free. but it defenetly gives it the needed bottom end, and if done properly it should give quiet a bit. the shee is a better deal.

Banshee or YZF450 ??
i have a stock raptor and my friend has a banshee FMF pipes, Toomey 2:1 intake, Timing plate and some other stuff i forget but he can only stay up with me, he has only beaten me a few times but that was on pavement. But this weekend a YFZ tore me up LOL. So i know a yfz is faster then a banshee. And not many people will dump 2000-4000 or more dollars into a ATV. =) go with the YFZ!

With a pipe, exhaust cam mod (lid off obviously) you should be able to handle them with out much of an issue. You could actually be into yours for less than they are.
As far as dunning - great machine.
