Pro design or k&n for Raptor?

Get the foam. The outerwear has rubbed the screen on my K&N completely through after less than 50 hours. No one will warranty the filter. Pro Design sells foam and K&N so they can't come out and say which to use, but they told me that if it was their personal machine they would run foam.

I can't see the outerwear rubbing through the screen. If you have the lid on you might not have removed enough of the flanges from it or on the sides of the box. I can see the screen on the filter rubbing a hole in the outerwear however. I'll trust your word however and am not at all saying what you said is not true.
I like the K&N for ease of cleaning and the better air flow. The filtration is top notch as well. imo

I use the K&N but I only ride at the dunes. If you ride in really dusty conditions then I would use the foam because it does filter better. But for better flow and easier cleaning get the K&N.

I thought a k&n worked better for dusty/sandy conditions and a foam filter worked better in wet/muddy conditions...

I have no air box so there is nothing to rub. It is just the constant vibration of the outerwear against the screen I guess. I spoke with reps from Outerwears, K&N, and Pro Design about this. Mine is the only one they've heard of. The Pro Design rep did say they recommend replacing ALL air filters every 50 hours. They also said that K&N is made of surgical gauze....not that good for filtration. Maybe I'll just oil a couple gym socks and slide em' over the velocity tubes! LOL

I am assuming that you already have the pro design billet plate. My K&N has worn a hole through the outerwear and (before I cut more off, I thought it was good) my airbox flange wore a small hole in the metal screen. I would go K&N, but that is just me.
