Default Raptor oil Reservior leaking

My tank is leaking oil where the oil line fitting bolts too the bottom of the oil tank. I can't understand why this area would have a crack because it is under no stress. Anyone have this problem?

In looking at the aftermarket units....they are larger and closer too the head...this additional heat takes away the benefits of increased capacity. Mine has been leaking for a while...figured I would down it and fix it.

It's attached to the frame isn't it? That's a serious question. Dynamic movement of the frame has go to transfer somewhere. You may have inadvertantly loaded it cockeyed (sp?) - the frame that is.

The aftermarket tanks are alot closer to the head pipes but the effects are outwieghed by the extra oil if even marginally. If you sit still long enough I bet it would get hot. Not alot of people have had luck fixing their stock tanks for long. I havent heard any one have any luck with jb weld. Im pretty sure you have to solder it to fix it with any kind of durability.

They tank is mounted in rubber grommets too the frame. The machine has been in a couple tumbles (lol) and is rode aggressively...that was the only thing I could come up with as well. Still, I don't notice many other people having trouble besides Raptor owners.....

The problem is where the oil line connects to the bottom of the tank. At the base of the connection. Vibration is the culprit imo. The hose flexes the tank flexes etc. Like Warrior007 said the tank is a s thin as a soda can. I've JB welded mine several times. Now it's got high temp scilicone on there. Get it tig welded and that spot should be fine. Doesn't mean it won't spring up in another area. Aftermarket seems to be the only answer.

Gary you have to keep an eye on the
rubber bushings if the tank moves
around by hand replace all 3 mine
has cracked also had it welded so
it won't crack in that spot no more
the reason I didn't get the aftermarket
tank was you can't get the header off
without taking the tank off
call me lazy
