Dirtwheels - why in the world....
Can someone please tell me why they did not use the same dyno for all the machines - yfz450, z440 and predator? Why use FMF pipes on the yamaha and suzuki but put a pure polaris pipe on the predator? I feel that the best quad won anyway, but as usual dirtwheels left themselves a loophole to escape the bashing. Do you folks think that the "a$$kicking" that the predator is taking from the 440 and 450 on pg. 62 is accurate? I am a yamaha guy but that looks damn bad for the predator owners who drag. My brothers predator feels pretty fast with only a pipe and jet kit but it is taking a butt-whipping in dirtwheels - everyones favorite magazine(to bash).

yamaha660r I hate to tell you but with just a pipe and airfilter you are not at 50hp!! Dont believe the crap on just add this pipe from company x and you'll have a 50hp raptor! just the pipe and air filter you may be at 36-38rwhp
Kenz Cycle Tech out of mesa AZ dyno'ed a raptor & a yfz both rite off the showroom floor
raptor 33rwhp and the yfz450 38rwhp!! take it for what it is but that the #'s out of AZ!

Howard, the 38 RWHP YFZ that Ken dynoed had a pipe on it. As for the YFZ's drag racing prowess, I believe it's due to a lack of lowend grunt coupled with a smooth mid-top pull. Which allows it to hook up and go. Put a piped Banshee (like my buddies that dynoed at 45 RWHP on Kenz dyno) and a piped YFZ on the pavement, and I'm sure the Banshee will give the YFZ a good view of its hind quarters. All this YFZ versus everything else can easily be settled at KENZ CYCLE TECH on the next Dyno Day. Any YFZ owners wanna prove me wrong?
