I have a 96 banshee... I have a cool head and domes in there right now. I have busted/torn whatever 2 freaking o-rings in the past couple weeks. Yes they were lubed and what not. My friend is telling me go back stock heads b/c they dont have rings and it wont mess up as much, and he said i sill wont loose speed.. What do you think I should do?

 

Der... if you drop your compression you will lose power all over, top bottom, everywhere. Check to make sure the head and cylinder surfaces match up good, maybe thats why ur blowing them.

 

Alright ill check on that... So your saying switching to stock head ill loose power then i guess?

 

Loosing power depends on if you had your stock shaved .015 or .030. What cc domes are you using?

I ran a cool head with 18cc domes and never had any problems and running race fuel. Check the top of the jugs and make sure they are not worped. Put a straight edge across both jugs while they are still bolted to your upper case and see of you can see light.

 

Hey I am running 20cc domes and just superleaded gas/oil.... But I hate that it keeps blowing these freaking rings and i dont get to ride b/c its the weekend and no one carrys them in stock.
