Default Banshee Problem

I just put boyesen power reeds in and i tried starting it and it wont start at all and it was running perfectly fine before i put them in. There is lots of spark and everything just wont start. If you put some gas into the carbs, pull the choke out to full and kick it, it will start and it will run but then it will start back fireing just when its idling. And as soon as you put the choke back in the engine will die. Anyone have any idea's why it is doing this? Do i need to rejet before it will start or what? Any info you got would be useful. Thanks.

You shouldn't have to re-jet just adding reeds. I think your reeds are not closing properly during start up. Is there a large gap between the reeds and the tip of the reed cage.

Or it could be the carbs, when was the last time you cleaned them out good. I know all you did was install reeds but you also had to remove the carbs to get to them. This might have moved some dirt around and clogged the carbs.

Make sure you installed them right and check for missing allen bolts (air leak). Sounds like something went wrong in the install, make sure you tighten the reeds all the way(just don't tighten too tight)
