Default rim help?

Hey I just purchased a 9*9 rim from the internet and now that I went to put it on I see that it is only 8" my tire which is a 9" goes right over it with no problem. They measured it from the outside diamater, but when you measure it where the beed is it is only eight. Can anyone tell me what in the heck just happened. And if you understand this. Sorry hope that I am not just rambiling and confusing everyone.

Sounds like you ended up with the wrong rim. If your tire is an 8" bead (measure hole from top to bottom), then you need an 8" rim. Or if you already have the 9" rim, you need 9" tires to mount on them...
