The prodesign shifter is nice also if you have bigger feet. (it's a little longer)

I had a direct link IMS and hated it. The throw was so long with my boots I had a hard time shifting up and not missing gears. not to mention it had a lot of play and when I'd shift the shifter pushed into the case and left a nice scratch. Now don't get me wrong, I haven't tried the roll design or pro design shifter but after the IMS I'll deal with the linkage.

I had an IMS shifter for an xr650L modified for a few bucks to the perfect length for myself...if I spent that much on a shifter I'd over-shoot my first jump...land on the aluminum shifter and strip all the splines right out

I want one but not for $65. I liked the feel when I rode Happaraps,,,,,but I can see where you might miss an upshift,,,,,at least untill a fella gets used to it..

Im still looking for a used one on ebay though. Ill go $35.

Does the direct mount help out any with the notchyness of the trans? Or does it just eliminate the linkage with no other advantages?

My 1st impression was basicly that you defenitely know what gear you are in, aand the gears are much easier to locate. It feels like trading a hatchet in for an ax. It is a great no-nonsense feel.
