I need some guidance from anybody who has DONE this before..
I'm trying to seperate the crankshaft halves so that I can replace the rod.... Its on a 98 Yamaha BigBear...
I know how its SUPPOSE to come apart.. Thats JUST NOT HAPPENING!!!!....
I am starting to think more and more about a cutting torch and a 12 pack of Miller Lite..
I've seperated cranks before by just using a brass drift and a hammer to drive out the crankpin... Then freezing the new pin and over roasting the counterweights in the oven (when the g/f is gone OF Course!! hahaah) Then just sliding it back together.. I have the "V" blocks and dial indicator to re-align the two halves... the CrankPIN JUST WON'T FREAKIN MOVE!!!....
HELP!!....

Let a pro rebuilt your crank. I saw someone rebuild their crank on a banshee. about a month into riding the one side of the crank can apart in the motor. Cranks need to be trued just right.
