I can't wait to watch this thing get left behind by the yfz. I think the yammi will have it beat in power and suspension. The suspension on the yammi looks so much better up front and and the rear suspension on the yammi has a better linkage design. And the yammi has an inch more travel up front and in the rear. The only place that the honda has the yammi beat is in the msrp. When will the honda 450's start selling anyway? This could be the beggining of a great rivalry. Factory support would be great.

There already is factory support from Honda right now. They are sponsoring Tim Farr in the MX series of 2004 on the 450r. I think you can expect an even faster yfz450 for 2004 when they bore it 10ccs more to comply with the new ATVA rules. This is pretty funny considering how the yfz will kick the 450r's *** as it is!

yeah the bikes are pretty evenly matches on paper....but in the end Honda will dominate and hand Yamaha thier *** as they have always done... those Yammies are great on paper but have reliability issues on thier first year....My deposit is now on a trx450r; as of yesterday ... even if its a tie performance wise...( better look closley Yamaha guys before you speak)...atr least I wont be mistaken for a Raptor..............................Flame on!!!!!!!!

Just for your info the ATVA has not voted on any rule changes for next year yet. We will not be meeting till the 1st week in Oct to vote on rule changes for next year. As of right now the limit in the 4-st class is 400 and the production class is 450cc. Maybe it will get changed andmaybe it will not, will have to wait till Oct.

The YFZ has 7/34 in. of travel up front. And the upper arms suck!
