what do you need that much compression for?

 

well, to go faster of course.
until i beat jeff i will not be satisfied. and i will not use the bottle
looks like my options are leading towards another 686 with 14 to 1
trying to get a fresh cylinder right now.
if i get my other head finished by thankgiving i think it should be able to hold its own against the big dogs (just the four strokes) at dumont, but we will have to see

 

i dont know what your buddy jeff has but you can definitely build a fast raptor without building a grenade! I am running 12 1/2 :1 and runn with highly modified 727's!

Bad 350 twin......I agree with you.....an engine builder I am considering actually builds Porche Lemans engines for the 24 hour series, and gets incredible power out of small displcement 4 cyl. engines(1.8 l.) - non turbo'd as well, These engines are built for both power and durability, no strokers, and 12:1 max compression. Power is from compression ported pistons which increase the dynamic compression, beryllium ceramic sleeve coatings and titanium valves with lighter springs for reduced drag loss, and porting in and out with different valve grind to match, exhaust and intake designed to match the other flow mods. Power comes from slam dunking the air into the cylinder from flow mods. All mods are flowed and dyno'd. Why not look for some professional alternatives?

 

i already have a "highly modified 727" and i honestly think a 686 can be faster.
i am not looking for a fast raptor. i want the fastest raptor. that is almost impossible to do

right now sparks with his years of experience has it hands down. his last showing at four stroke wars really showed me that bigger is not always better and you can win without using nitrous. i predict that next years sparks bike at four stroke wars will completely destroy the competition, even the black raptor that won last year. that is what i think will happen, so you guys better gear up cause after two wins i dont think they would settle for a loss the third time around.

as for my bike i hope to complete my head work by thanksgiving so i have some time to tune the thing before four stroke wars
