Default yfz problems

I am looking at buying a YFZ and wondering what kind of problems you had with yours. Let me know everything if I'm gonna spend $7000-8000 I need to know what I'm getting. All I'm looking for is mechanical problems like bent axles, blowen shocks, blown motors, and bent a-arms. I know the price is high in a lot of peoples opinion but I don't care so don't tell me.

Just do an advanced search for YFZ going back 7 days and you will find all kinds of posts about it, including one asking exactly what you just did.

Search and you shall find.

Too fast...
handles too good...
wants to jump everything...
I always get home wet and tired...
Can't wipe that stupid smile off my face...
Do you get it yet - even if there was a problem, I'd just fix it!!! (but there isn't)
The YFZ is the most fun I have, except for those 3'somes my wife talks me into...

Keep in mind before you lay the dough down..it's very likely Yamaha may bump it up to it's full fighting weight with the release of the new TRX450 and add another 10cc's next year.

when the trx450r comes out the price may drop to match the honda so you might want to hold off until spring to get it but as for problems i read somewhere that one person bent the a arm, another said they had problems with the front shocks, & another said they had problems with the qad dieing on them all the time but you have to take into consideration what kind of riding they are doing & how the problems were caused. your bound to hear problems with any make or model of quad there is but if you sell 2000 of them & you have problems with 50 or so thats not bad

Problems hmmm sure there will be problems, and every yamaha product I have had (quads, wave raiders etc) have had some type of problems, but this looks to be Yamaha's best four wheeled effort to date.

The obvious stuff that most people bash on them like the aluminum a-arms etc are things that most likely will not be a problem unless you push it to its limit, but if you ride that way I doubt you would be happy with any quads stock suspension or the few extra pounds of the aftermarket stuff.

I dont think there will be the same problems with this model as the raptor since it appears that there was a lot more thought put into this one. Time will tell but I hope for the sake of the mfg that the reliability more resembles that of the warrior than the raptor.

So go ride the life out of one and let everyone know what you find, but like it was said earlier you may just find a big ole smile.
