I sanded it by hand starting with 220 grit then 320 then 400 then 600 and then I polished it with a buffing wheel on a drill like 5 times each and they come out like a mirror. Then paint the yamaha letters on the side case black and it looks good also. Hard work but worth it in the end. I bet my friend and I have spent 20 hours of sanding on our quads ... good luck

I have had real good luck with aircraft stripper to get the paint off.You have to kind of let it sit on there for a little while and then scrub it with a 3M scratch pad.It does a awesone job.I have had to sand some of the rougher castings though.
another good tool in polishing is a fine tooth file....It works wonders on dings and deep scratches.
Good luck.

WildChild-
How much is it Extended, Exactly 4 in.? And, what exactly had to be done? Do you add Material to the center section of the S-arm?
Hey what do you think of that Pipe, and, what is it? Did it make a big difference? How loud is it?.. I have to have it kinda quiet to get on the dunes.
Everything looks real nice!

Captbags - It was 200 (plus shipping but it was only 7 bucks for me) dollars anywhere from 1-6 inches extended. And as you know I got a +4. They do an awesome job doing this, they cut your swingarm right in front of your bearing carrier then weld a 4 inch box type plate to fit flush, then the weld that to your swingarm then Reinforce it with another plate on the bottom going the long way (perpendicular to then box like plate they just welded). Then thats pretty much it. Real good welder whoever did mine. Heres there site Mac Racing PM with anymore questions
My pipe is a CT that I polished out. I love it and its not that loud compared to other pipes on raptors and I have yet to be beat by another piped raptor. We have a 93 db limit at the Oregon dunes (not really strictally inforced) but I havent gotten checked of even looked at for my pipe loudest. I recommmend this pipe or the curtis sparks X-6
