Ummm..its pred over Raptor..not raptor over pred.

They gave the overall win to the Yami..seems like a great quad..although there are a couple people talking about weak subframes. And before everyone jumps on me "quit bashing" im not..im just saying what the people racing them are saying..gusset kits are in the works i hear. Just seems taht they bend a little easy..but still..a lighting quick quad! Nice product yami..

Accroding to what ive read on this forum this is how it is, then i read atv action and said the yfz was faster and i was like wha?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]. I dont know i just though i would ask cause i too only believe things seen first hand

 

I Raced a predator on my yfz and it was a verry good race. i took the holeshot and just held it to top gear. I won by only 2 lengths.
I think if my yfz was stock i would have lost, it was that close. The predator was stock.

 

Did you see the dyno in the same article? On a CT racing dyno, the Pred had about 8 more HP than the YFZ.....they (the mag) said it was a weight issue; that the Predator has a much stronger engine.

 

I'm new to all this quad talk.....what the hell is a cam mod on a new YFZ 450?

 

TRLYFZ450 is your banshee faster than the yfz if you had to pick what would it be

 

I agree..you cant beleive anything in the mags..look at dirtwheels how bad they had the pred loosing to the Z440 & YFZ450.

now the two people i ride the most with, one has a raptor, the other a shee, and stock for stock, i can take em both..usually comes down to who gets the holeshot, but even if i loose that..in the long run i catch and pass if im behind.

But again..you cant beat the yami for quickness..it revs so quick..nice quad..

 

I think the YFZ have the weight in thier corner. I rode one and it feels like it accelerates rather quickly, however it doesn't have a whole lot of torque say a 400 EX, DS, or Raptor. It almost has a 2 stroke feel. What do they rev out to? Predators are quicker than most give credit for. For it's displacement if it weighed in a little less it would be a monster.

 

Agreed..if the pred was down around 375 or so..man oh man..that thing would be a rocket!

The YFZ revs to about 10,750 I think..thats pretty damn high! Its such a quick rever too...much quicker then the pred..which i fell revs soo fast! LOL..
