PLEASE HELP 686 jetting

Default PLEASE HELP 686 jetting

i getting a 686 kit this month with a 12.1 je piston, hotcam two with springs, port and polish, yosh full ehaust with k&n filter, airlid 50% removed. I would like to know what your 686 kits are jetted to with piolet screw adjustments and neadle positions and at what altitude. Please let me know because everyone i talk to has a very differnt opion.

What is your elevation??

I would think you need a 25 pilot 3 turns out on one side and 2.5 on the other fuel air screw and main jets of 180 and 185

I live at 6500 feet but my riding places are one at 2000' and other is 8000'. i would like to know were to jet it at all three places or at least a good starting point to test at. thanks, clint

I would jet it for 2000' and then see how it does at higher elevations, you don't want to run that engine lean.
I used 180/185 mains on a 11:1 stage 1 686 and the plug looked perfect but upt them to 185/190 to make sure it would not be lean and it didn't seem to effect power being a bit richer. The rest of the settings are the same as 14 mins said with GYT-R needles and he runs this set up from sea level to 6000'.
You might give Craycraft a call about modding your carbs, I don't think the stock carbs will feed that engine without mods.
And adjust your float level.
