JTM Extension Question - -

Has anyone made thier own or retro fit an aftermarket aluminum rear skid plate?
I am going riding in the desert in a few months and wanted to get me a skid plate so I dont loose the rear brake rotor or sprocket.
Thanks
JTM told me they were coming out with one and havent heard from them since.

I modified the stock one to fit. Do the same to an aftermarket should be as easy. All I did was redrill the holes in the front of the plate. And then used some Adel clamps mounted to the lower JTM bolt tube to secure the rear of the plate.

I had the same concern when contemplating the purchase. Another problem was $300 for basically 2 side plates. Until I installed my new +4 Tucker, I did'nt realize my biggest problem.....high speed stability. Due too the nature of the stock chain adjustment system, you can never get the rear wheel perfectly straight......my Tucker set-up fixed this problem. I purchased the T+4 primarily too calm the front end down, but was pleasantly surprised with amazing high speed stability. But, another $250 is a consideration I can understand......just throwing in my $.02 gentlemen.

Yes the modifying the stock one was pretty easy because it can bend easier. I was going to see if anyone has modified an aluminum one.
I havent had any stability speed problems and have jumped my bike 15 ft in the air with no problems yet. They bolt on setup installs easily and is easily to take off. Thats what I like about it too.
