Default looking for a 100.5mm 12:1 piston

I know JE sells the 100mm 12:1 for $154 but I would also like to get a 100.5mm 12:1. JE said they would have to make & sell me four of the 100.5mm 12:1 to recover engineering costs.

Anybody have a source for either & maybe better price?

I know theres 13-1 100.5mm Pistons for the Raptor, But their a bit spendy > Like $250.00. But I guess that's better than buying 4.

Thanks. I know Rossier Engineering sells a 13:1 for $175 but I don't know if my stock rod can handle that much comp? I would have to run pure race gas with the 13:1 & I was planning on running a mix of pump/race gas with the 12:1 setup. If I thought my rod could handle it I'd run the 13:1 but sometimes when we go on a long ride there is no going back to the trucks for fuel so we have to stop at a station for pump gas. On those occassions even with the 12:1 I would need to bring along a can of octane boost. If anybody runs the 13:1 with stock rod I'd like to hear from you too!

I hear ya. Race gas is very expensive to. So the 13:1 would get very expensive very quickly.

More compression effectively makes an engine more efficient with the amount of fuel necessary......if you are making more power with the same fuel, fuel economy can easily be increased. IMO, you are asking for some serious trouble going too 13/1 on the stock rod......too each his own though.

I decided to go with the 12:1 JE stock bore piston from MagnoliaYamaha, good price, nice guy-thanks BC. I talked to a few engine builders who said you can deglaze the cylinder once or twice before you need to bore it. I am also getting the head/combustion chamber ported/polished & will try a 1mm oversized center intake valve for now. I will Dyno the results & update my profile. Stay tuned...
