if you still have the stock paper air filter, that may be the problem...most stock air filters die the motor ou in water or mud...you need a reuseable waterproof type K&N air filter or somthing, maybe thatll work

Or you could just wait till the diff lock engages and then hit the gas.

Hello everyone,

I know this is a seperate subject but it's along the same lines. Does the 2004 Grizzly 660 have an override button for reverse like the Prairie?

Thanks,

IronBear

No. The limiter override on the grizzly only works in forward for the diff lock. There is no way to override the rev limiter in reverse on a grizzly with the stock controls.

I agree with the gentlemen blaming the problem on the diff lock not having engaged fully. Got into the same deal while stuck in the sand at Little Sahara. (buried it into the side of a hill playing around and had to use diff lock to climb out.)

the problem was the grizzly has a rpm limiter when the diff is locked, thats what the override is for,now it works fine but i also notice it sometimes takes a while for the diff to engage!that is aggravating.

I have also noticed that sometimes it takes awhile for it to engage. If i rock mine front to back a little it seems to go in quickly. Also when you shut off the 4wd if your in motion. Letting off the gas for a sec, then pushing it again seems to disengage the 4wd, which also sometimes takes a minute to release. I love the damn thing, i was out on it tonite and climbed on big muddy gully that i didnt think it had a CHANCE. I am very happy with my purchase!
