I am on the Univ. Of MD racing team and we are in the FSAE competition. It is basically a mini indi car competition and we are planing on using a YFZ 450 engine but we have to breath it through a 20mm restrictor. If anyone has YFZ if you could please tell me what you would think would happen. Wat will happen to the horsepower? E-mail: cbarbour@umd.edu

 

Does anyone have a YFZ that would be willing to help me out? our school will machine the rstrictor and all you'd have to do is give it a test run, it will be just as if you had a really really dirty airfilter.

 

If possible make your restictor plate in a venturi shape so as to speed up the air,They do this with snomobiles and it makes it quieter with out hurting performance too much.20 mm isnt that about the size of the pea shooter on the stock muffler?
