04 raptor
#1
I have a 04 raptor and it stick alittle bite when i rev it up and down . It stays rev for about 4seconds then it goes back to idle. It mainly does it when i'm shifting gear and i let off the gas and it wants to stay rev up a little bite then it goes back to idle. JUst for maybe about 5 seconds or so. Is there a easy way to adjust these.

I think I would first look at the throttle cable and see if it needs to be adjusted or maybe greased, seems a little odd that it would mainly being doing it only when shifting.....I would think it would do it whenever you revved it up, if you have had it less then 6 months have the dealer fix it.....should be covered under the warrenty.
I also see your from Gulfport, MS......how is the riding over there, any good spots or tracks? If you ever come over to the Mobile area give us a shout, we are always looking for other people to ride with.....especially sport quads as we are very much the minority over here

How long have you had yours? When I very first got my 04 it did the same thing, it would take a second or two for the rpms to drop back down. I think it may just be because it hasn't been used, something may be rubbing a bit and not letting the throttle cable move freely. If you just got it, give it a few days and see if it works itself out.

I also just purchased a new '04 Raptor, and it is still on its way from Chicago. I was just wondering if you veteran Rappy riders had any tips or advice for the quad. Also, let me know if you think there are any "must-have" aftermarket parts for it. Thanx, and good luck with the revving problem missgirl.

missgirl,
It sounds like your throttle cable is not adjusted properly. Take a look at your throttle cable, you need to adjust it at either end.
2.Adjust:
Throttle lever free play

NOTE:
If the free play cannot be adjusted here, adjust
it at the throttle lever side of the cable.
Second step:
Pull back the adjuster cover 4.

free play is obtained.

to the right and left to make sure that the
engine idling speed does not increase.

Turning out Free play is decreased.
Turning in Free play is increased.
Turning out Free play is decreased.
If you check your throttle freeplay, you should sort your problem out........good luck
