Raptor or Predator?
#1
Right now I have a Yamaha Warrior and some time next year I am going to be buying a new quad. I was either thinking of the Raptor or Predator. I trail ride, hill climb, go through some mud, cross som little creeks, I like to do wheelies and soughnuts too. I was wondering what quad would be better for what I will be doing. I was thinking about the Raptor because of the reverse, I like how it looks better, and I like Yamaha better than Polaris. Plus I heard the Raptor was good for the things that I want to do with it. Let me know what you think.
Thanks

Depending on your age, but I think you already sold yourself on the Raptor. If you are looking for reverse, I would go with the Raptor. If you are a little younger, I would suggest a z400 (has reverse).

either one would be good for your riding raptor would have some edge like if you didn't want to go through a trail cause you don't know whuts on the other side all you gotta do it put it in reverse and back track but the pred has ***** it will take you anywhere you want to go it all comes down to what you feel about the quad test drive them both there both great quad i feel that you'll get better handling from the predator thats what helped it win atv of the year. but i dont know so go test drive and tell us ok?

It doesnt matter about reverse, I just want to know which one will be better for what I want to do, I have a Warrior right not so a Z400 wont be a big difference. I am almost 15 and I have ridden a Raptor before and I liked it a lot. Just never really rode a Predator yet and I dont know anything about them either. All I heard is the Raptor is better for what I am going to be doing because it has more torque, reverse, and it lighter. I want some other people opinions.

I do the same type of riding with my Predator as what you are doing with your Warrior, but maybe a little more mudding. The reverse thing is just hype. There might have been 3 different times that I could have used reverse. If you get into mud and can't move forward, reverse isn't going to do you any good. I know this from experience with my Scrambler. It might be useful before you get into something though. For me, the reverse on the Raptor or Z are just more moving parts inside to brake. This is just experience, but any Raptors that I've come across have not beaten my Predator, so the "faster" isn't a factor either. The Raptor is lighter and easier to lift the front end up, but isn't nearly as well suspended as the Predator, or handle as well.
