Raptor Coolant Mixtures: Share here!
#1
As some forum members may know lately I've been working alot on my quads getting them working//ready to sell. I am ready to put coolant and oil back into the quad. I allready have my favorite oil picked out, now I need to know what kind of coolant mixtures people are using with success. Before I had all 100% coolant and have learned that watering it down makes it transfer the heat better, while still keeping the water parts well lubed. Any help would be good, and if anyone uses water wetter, redline, or whatever kind of additives would be nice to know how they work. Hope to start the quad monday (assuming my wiring is correct)

... Well thanks for the input... I have a bottle of "peak ready" in my garauge and it says "DO NOT ADD WATER" is this just because they want you to use all of there product, or will water do something bad to the anti freeze? I noticed in another little writing it says, "Blah blah blah... Peak is ready to be used as is, no need to add water. Made me wonder if it is allready watered down a little, or if they just want to sell more product? Anyone want to share there mixtures

If you check out the November issue of ATV Sport, some yahoo with a computer, a camera, and a quad () did some tests on coolant additives, and other ideas/gear. I can't for the life of me remember what his name was though...........

The Article was by Ken "Jetblast" Thompson, and its pretty cool reading. It also tested those inline cooling fins they sell on ebay and it showed improvement by 9 degrees which I purchased one last year but never installed it, now its on my bike.

Ok thanks for the replies... where can I catch a glimpse of this article? And I'm filling up my quad with coolant today... Do I put it in the resovuor (sp?) and the radiator, then run it and fill the res. until it is in the good zone? My lines are completely drained.
