Default raptor rebuild

this is my first post . I rebuilt my raptor tranny with stock 01 gears I just want to sell it so I didnt use the 02 stuff it all worked fine for about 30 minutes now the only gear I got is revers and I dont have to use the lock out to git that. when you go through the gears the shift leaver never stops going up or down.
I think it would have to be a fork but any sugestions

I think your shifthead (star) may be put together wrong or you are missing the little hat bushing on the shiftstar lever (It may have fallen off when putting the cover on). If the tangs in the shiftstar are backwards (they make the ratcheting action) they will probably not catch the next gear to turn the shift drum. If the hat bushing (that the shift lever connects to at the shiftstar is missing the shift lever will have full throw but not enough to catch the next gear - similar to if the shift star tangs are in backwards (round vs flat edges)

The only other thing I can think of is the "C" shaped bracket wasnt put back on the shifthead.

If it worked for 30 minutes and just went dead without a bang I think something may have come loose on the clutch cover side.

Luckily all this stuff is accessible via the clutch side cover.

OK it doesn't sound like a major deal
The reverse lever(bottom lh side of motor)either doesn't have its spring
Or the ratchet mechanism was put together wrong...inside rh side cover

he would still be able to shift up and out of reverse though.

I did do what your talking about jay, I dropped my motor putting it back in the frame and smashed the begeezus outa that reverse lockout lever. Freaked me out pulling back in the driveway and downshifting into first only to stall the motor and head over the bars.

I know how it is, I also have a 2001 raptor and 1986 R

Both are in various states of brokenness at any given time. usually the same time.
