I have a 99 warrior with DG pipe and KN air filter. I was told to get a steering dampener but I don't know what it is or where to get one. I was also told to get a tork stuffer but again I don't know what it is or where to get one. Can anyone please help. Thanks

Kmoney, the guys who told you to get a steering dampener and a "torque stuffer" could have had the decency to tell you what these things are ane why they are useful! Why didn't you ask them?
A steering dampener is basically a hydraulic cylinder fastened to the steering gear to dampen violent oscillations and excursions, as when you hit a big rock with one wheel. With some systems, when this kind of impact occurs, you can almost break your wrist on the handlebars; also, you may experience "bump-steer," where a bump sends the quad on a course you didn't really intend to follow. Whether you need a steering dampener or not depends upon your riding style and environment; if you need one, you'll find out!
Torque stuffer? Ain't sure about that 'un. Name for an exhaust system? Name for a camshaft?
Now, when your advisors send you out for a left-handed monkey wrench, or a sky hook: watch out!

You can search "torque stuffer" because about a month ago there was a post on it i think it was in performence mods and jetting.
Hey Tree Farmer, I have a Banshee and race MX I dont have a damper but have been considering one. Will i notice the difference on the track or just in the trails? I know I would notice a diffrence but would it be enough to make me faster or make me have less arm pump?
Thanks

I had an 00 Warrior with a White Bros. (WB) E-Series Pro-Meg pipe, and I didn't notice any improvement when I added a WB torque stuffer. The stuffer though, is a round plug with a tapered hole in the center that mounts inside the headpipe where it bolts to the head itself. In theory, it's supposed to boost low end torque but without affecting the top end. In reality though, why would you want to restrict the exhaust when you opened it up by adding the pipe? Although it only costs about $35, I'd spend the money elsewhere...maybe add a little $$$ and upgrade the stock handlebars.

". . .the engineer in me trying to get out . . ."
Is that what it is, P.J.? The "engineer?"
I've heard it called other things, but I'm uncertain of the spelling.
No apology necessary. Any correction from a Certified Professional Engineer is gratefully accepted. I want to dampen (or, would an engineer say, "damp?") unwanted steering gear oscillations, not your enthusiastic assistance.

first of al every one has been right on the dampener. i've had them on a few bikes and i will always have one.they make a night and day diffrence. You can get them from almost any afftermarket shop or you can call denton racing for thiers whish i feel is the best one for the money. on the tork stuffer it mad by white brothers. i use one on my bike and i love it i've had my bike on the dyno with and with out the tork stuffer and it did make an improvement. the way the power comes on is great its got a nice lowend grunt and adds about 1/2 a hp at top end. dispite what you would think about it hampering power because it is smaller than the head pipe your wrong. I had my head flow tested with the head pipe on with the tork stuffer installed and it dosen't restrict any flow even at the max valve opening with a 450 lift cam. its well worth the 30 bucks.
