raptor starting prob

If you still have your parking brake on there is a sensor there that might have come loose or is causing it to cut out. Check your clutch cable for adjustment. If it is not fully disengaging, it might not be letting the engine crank if it thinks it is still in gear, maybe.

Mine is the same way. When I took the parking brake off it made it so I can only start it in neutral. Think of it as a blessing though. From what I've been told, one of the possible causes of 01 trany failures was starting in gear.

01-04 still have the same starter one-way. it will go bad eventually.
There are 2 sensors on the original clutch perch, one for the parking brake, one for the clutch sensor. If you unplugged both under the front cowl the parking brake is ok. but the other clutch sensor has 2 wires with connectors on each end. plug them into each other and it will start in any gear and nuetral
When I hillclimb and get stuck or get into some think goop its impossible to start get into neutral. its a must to start in gear

thanks a lot for the info. i did not even think about that. i did disconnect my parking break and thats why it only starts in nuetral. do u suggest just starting in nuetral or connecting the two wires so it will start in every gear? it is an 01 so what do u think?
