Default What quad?

Hi,
I am thinking about buying a quad (never owned one, but I have ridden them before) and was wondering if I should go for the new yfz 450 or a Raptor. I will use it for mostly dunes and desert riding. I would like good power, but it doesn't have to be over the top. Do they both handle well, or is the 450 way better? Thanks, and please give me any advice.

The YFZ is Awesome in sand.... You might feel uncomfortable on it. The raptor is big and fun and has reverse (Dont really matter in desert). I hear the YFZ isnt very upgradable which can be good and bad. The YFZ is also a better drag bike right off the floor. You will have to make the choice!

RAPTOR HAS MY VOTE!

What is the best part to upgrade on a raptor first? Do they have any glaring weak spots? Thanks.

Thanks, what exhaust would you reccommend? Also, is the raptor a good jumper, or would a 400ex/ z400 quad be a better jumper?

Do you believe you have the skills to ride either one of those machines? Sure everybody wants something strong and fast, but buying the fastest quad on the market isn't always the best choice. Your skills should first be honed on something you can handle, not something that will handle you. Most people I've known who started on a quad that didn't mesh with their ability usually ended up getting hurt. Even though you said you have some experience, just keep in mind that those are 2 powerful machines and should be given their proper respect when riding them. JMO
