raptorguy when was it when your balljoint came apart at southwick after the table top? last years nacs race or this years first race? if I recall right you were out front? I felt so bad when that sweet looking plastic hit the ground!
I did good took 1st for the year!

so i guess im gonna sell the raptor. As i can see so far, nothing is broken.
So what about the yfz. Will that frame eventually crack on me too. Or is that built to prevent it. I know eventually shocks and stuff break, but i used to think that the frame was safe unless u crashed it. Guess not.
Maybe ill just sell the raptor and get a croch rocket or a dirtbike. Those seem more MX ready. waddaya guys think?

Mine was broken everywhere
Mind you I only "crashed" the raptor once and the damage was NOT from that wreck
I'll take a picture and put arrows to all the breaks...I think if everyone were to look they might find the same

Please put up some pictures of your busted frames. I'm going to send my frame out for powdercoating this winter and I want to gusset the weak spots first. I have a lot of paint flaked off the welds but haven't found any cracks, most every single weld has some paint flaked off in one spot or another.
Now I'm nervous about the Lonestar swingarm, any spots in particular I should watch?
Thanks!

Hey Racin Jason, I haven't raced up at cycleland this year but I believe I have raced you before up there last year. If I remember right you usually took first in the pro class. There was also a 400ex that usually placed in the top two. Hows the racing been up there? I busted my *** at Marysville about 6 months ago and haven't raced since. Still not 100%. I ride a white 250r and actually got ran over by a raptor for what I've been told. I don't remember much. Anyways I also have a raptor that my woman rides and was wondering where to get the phone # or address of this Tucker swing arm? Thanks Jerry. Hope to race again next season

DSRacer,
No, the ball joint didnt break during that race, the nylock backed off. Needless to say those are gone now. I called Houser and asked if they had castle nuts and why they didn't tap their studs, they said they never heard of a nylock backing off. I bought another ball joint and said don't bother sending the nut. I went to the local dealer, found some ones off a 400EX that would fit the thread, pulled both sets of a-arms and had all the studs tapped for safety wire.
But because it egged the hole in the spindle out, I think that's why I snapped a balljoint stud in half at Diamondback. Was putting a weird load on it and it just gave out.
congrats on the finish!
