Ok everybody, I need some advice on what suspension is the best for a raptor. I am still running stock shocks and I am ready to toss them in the trash. So any advice on suspension would be great. There is alot of different brands out there. Also if anyone is looking to sell some aftermarket shocks let me know. Thanks.

I've got the Elka LT SSD Elites on the front and love them. Can adjust for anything from trails to tight MX to open MX with just a **** twist. I'm still flatlanding a tabletop or two and they won't bottom out if you don't want them to. I try to keep them adjusted so I bottom out just a touch when I do something stupid, need that negative reinforcement I guess:-) I had the stock rear converted to SSD with Elka components. The conversion was too stiff until I got an extended swingarm, now it's great. Elka has a new rear linkage that I'd investigate if you are buying shocks at the same time, it requires a little different spring rate and/or valving than the normal linkage. Supposed to drop the rear another inch or so and add some more travel. Say goodbye to your money, getting a Raptor to really handle is not cheap.

I run PEPs all around and they work great for everything and aren't too bad on the pocket book. The worst part is the 2 months it takes to get them in.

I'd have to agree with the guys recommending Elkas. I run Elka SSDs and I love them!

What about lowering the raptor? I know works has 2 inch shorter tt shocks availible, are there other companies that offer something like that as well? I ice race and sand drag so i would love the drop. Tried those lowering blocks but accidently went off a jump at the dunes where i was sand dragging and busted them all to heck. Id like the drop without sacraficing durability. Thanks.

well I know elka makes a rear linkage that is supposed to lower the raptor like an inche and a half and make for alot smoother ride. This will also give you almost 2 more inches of travel. Iam sure you can find somethibg about it on thier web page. I thought I saw a cost for around $200.

You can flip the rear shocks lower link arm and lower the quad a decent amount but i wish i knew what this does to the travel. Makes it slide out great.
