What ya all yappin about the cannondale and raptor wont be out for a leasst another three months wait and have these arguments when you have at least seen more than a page of specs

 

I dont like stereotypes that make fun of people who like to have fun. For other people out there like me you actually have to work for what you have. And during those FEW times I actually do get to have some fun I like to have some serious FUN. I mean really why do you feel you have to make a wise crack like that towards someone who wants a Raptor? Personally anyone's choice in a quad should be respected.........well unless your talking about a 300lb guy buying a Badger but you know what I mean. I mean each person buys a quad for a different reason..........Personally I say let it be and let everyone be different! What fun would it be if we all rode the same darn bike! Well sorry about speaking up like this but I really wanted to say something about this whole stereotype that was mentioned.........You should stay away from them cause when you use them your always going to step on other peoples toes!
I mean really anyone I have ever asked if they like their quad they say they love it........And im happy for them. Like I said what fun would it be if we all rode the same bike. Before I go I honestly want to say thanks to everyone out there who likes different bikes and not staying narrow minded and VERBALLY BASHING those who take interest in a newer bigger quad. Sorry if I offended anyone out there. I wish you all GREAT riding!

I don't know how else to explain myself better.
Like I said some people do have a need for power & speed. BUT I have a bad feeling it could replace the Banshee as the "me too" quad. For example.... My friend brought a guy over who has a Banshee, he rides my brothers Polaris Sport & says "It's not bad but I think my Banshee will beat it." Well no ****! If my brother wanted a Banshee he would have bought one. My point is if everyone made their own quads from scratch then having a great performing quad would be something to really brag about. But the fact is you can BUY whatever. So all these guys that feel the need to buy a fast quad to just say they have a fast quad just need an ego boost. That's all I'm saying. That was my whole point. There are certainly other ways to boost your ego than to spend $6,500+.

good point. if you buy a quad just to have the fastest, you are most likely riding for the wrong reasons. you either won't stick with it, integrate yourself with a large tree, or simply trade it for a souped up el camino.

i too have friends that boil all quad comparisons down to top speed. of course, they don't even HAVE quads....

There was a friend of my brothers out here the other day. He was in the barn looking at my quad saying "Why didn't he buy a Banshee?"
DUH! Because I don't live around sand. And I liked the idea of the 4WD being that on trails & those trails that are under tree cover never seem to dry plus creek crossings are easy. Anyway you see my point. But all he knew was what he might have read in Dirtwheels or something about how fast the Banshee was. So I go out to take my girlfriends Trailblazer for a short ride. He says. "Start yours I want to hear it run." I said "I'm riding this one today." I thought I'm not going to get my quad out & beat on it for your entertainment. I let a couple people ride my quad before. All they want to do is see how fast it goes. They all come back & say "I can't believe it's 4WD, that's fast." I'm like no ****, it is a 400 2stroke dummy." So I don't let anyone else ride my quad because no-one can seem to ride it "normal". Everyone needs to beat on it.
Those are the kind of people I'm talking about. The ones that go around saying "I have the fastest, I have the fastest." But yet they can't ride it worth crap. I think your right about the tree thing. With all these new high performance quads being built I'm afraid people are going to start getting injured again & the government might step in again. I hope not but there are a lot of idiots out there! Especially the ones that will let theirs kids ride it!

 

im 14 years old and can ride a quad really good i want a raptor have a job and could pay for one(probly) i might kill myself but i'll still be the first person to get a raptor where i live some of you were saying some people buy them to show off and get girls well thats half true i want to show off and get girls but i also want the thrill of riding a really fast powerfull quad

 

I'll tell you something about 99% of women.
They don't care that you have a quad, only that you can buy one. Know what I mean? You could go out & buy a useless left handed football bat, but you have the MONEY to buy it. That's all that matters, money......

 

You guys are killing me hear, I am 17, drive a 95' v-6 4x4 toyota, own a 99 wolverine, and I wear oakley sunglasses, Now I am seeing a little jealousy on the crouch rocket thing, I dont own one but plan on it, I am like many of my other friends, why buy a 70,000 dollar dodge viper when you can out run it with a gsx12r or a yamaha r-1 or a cbr 929rr anyday. Personnaly I would like to own something that only costs 59,000 dollars less than a dodge viper, and could spank its @$$. Now sport bikes are not for everyone, just like the raptor wont be for me, but hey, I like to see the sports market grow, you guys say snowmobile racings fan base is broader, well not necessarily because theres only snow on the ground for about 2 months in the central states and less than that down south, plus you wont find a snowmobile in foreign countries like australia, or puerto rico, we just have to bring more interest to the sport like motocross did. The PRO's are here, we just have to use them. P.S the Raptors been in testing for almost 2 years, thats plenty of time to put wider a arms on it if it needed them!
