Default WHY IS IT FASTER???

OK, here are two Banshees, you tell me which one should be faster in 300 feet:

1.) 2000, mildly ported by a friend of mine, K&N pod filters, CPI out of frame drag pipes w/ no silencers, Vito's Hemi Head w/ 19cc domes, 10 paddle extreme haulers, 8 over swingarm, on stock pistons, clutch, and running 91 octane pump gas w/ 13 tooth fron sprocket. 170 pound rider and full suspension.

2.) 2000, ported by friend's dad, says he ported it more than this one ^, pro design cool head w/ small domes (not exactly sure what size), .060 over Vito's power pistons, port matched, stock carbs converted to alky, CPI Big Bore out of frame drag pipes with silencers, no front brakes, aluminum struts all the way around, 120 pound rider, 8 over swingarm, 12 paddle haulers, no airbox, they have messed with the gearing (they seem to have it where they want it), and new Vito's clutch with Barnett springs.

NOTE: Both very experienced riders.

Ok, I would think that #2 would obviously be faster, but this last weekend #1's best run was a 5.538 while #2 only managed a 5.559! Why in the he11 is this heavier, smaller motored, pump gas bike beating the other? It makes no sense to me, so tell me if you can figure it out. #1's best time was also with a .692 light on a .400 tree, although they both usually ran way better than this.

Hopefully one of the Banshee guru's on here can show me the light, cause I am confused as can be...

Well with those mods both shee's should be faster than that anyway. I would say it most likely has to do with the porting

#2 Might be over-paddled for the garage port job, loose chain, dirty filter, mis-adjusted clutch. Just b/c its ported "more" doesn't mean its ported right.

Both of the owners of both bikes know what they are doing, so it isn't chain adjustment or anything simple. I know you weren't bashing them, I'm just saying. I also think that he doesn't need that much paddle, but they tried 8, 10, and 12 paddle Haulers, and had similar times, with the best being ran with the 12's. Also, his porting has compared very well with alot of the other top end port jobs, better than some but not as much as alot of the big company's six and seven hundred dollar drag porting.

Also, I think that the track at LS is slower than others, such as TSD, due to the fact that the sand is very fine, and it is slightly uphill.
