Default Best Raptor Armor

I want to replace the plastic junk that came on my raptor with some "real" protection. What are your suggestions for armor? Is GYT-R the way to go or is there something better on the market? I don't care too much about saving weight, I just want some good solid protection. Thanks.

For the engine/belly skid, GYT-R is the only choice. For the swingarm, there are a couple of companies making a .250" (1/4") skidplate, none of them are junk. Do not get a swingarm skid that's less than .250" (DG), they bend way too easy. I had GYT-R a-arm skids on mine for a while and they were very durable.

I agree 100% with the .250 swingarm skid plate thickness. I had a .190 thick plate and had to replace the rear rotor at $115 in addition to pounding the skid plate back into shape. Armadillo makes a nice fitting rear swingarm skid plate. I bought engine skid from DG-the baja brand, and I hogged out custom A-arm guards from 5/8 inch plate for my aftermarket A-arms. The thickness on the a-arm guards was .190 all around.

I like the GYTR or UM racing belly skid in combination with the PRM swingarm skid.

I currently have a PRM belly skid, while it is good I think my GYTR was better and didnt hold tight up against the frame. The PRM comes with standard hardware instead of metric also, which I though was kinda weird.

The swingarm GYTR didnt last too long for me and kept knocking the heads off the bolts toward the rear of the swingarm. The PRM covers the bolts
