yfz450 beat z400 really bad?

does the stock yfz450 smoke the z400 by a lot? like how many lengths in a drag race, equal rider skill and weight. i know somebody has a really fast yfz somewhere that really beats up on the z's. tell me.

All I can tell you is that in a 300 ft drag I can beat a Z by a ton, but I cannot be at YFZ, so the difference is substantial. I have ridden both and can tell you that the two are night and day. The YFZ is well worth the extra money if you don't need reverse. You can probably make a Z400 run with a YFZ with a 440 kit, but no amount of bolt ons will ever get you there.

I can tell you this...
I can run around a 5.8 on my wifes piped and jetted Z, and the only YFZ to run at the strip so far was piped and jetted and was running around a 5.5 (5.4) was his best run. So both piped and jetted you are looking at about .4 or .5 difference. that is about 4 bike lengths. IMO
I would guess that the guy on the YFZ was probably about 30-40lbs lighter than me.
The YFZ is for sure a fast machine!

I own both and there is no cpmparision. With all of my bolt ons, the Z is a screamer and hangs with 440 Z's since it's well tuned. Right now, it's right about where my stock YFZ was, when it was stock.
we haven't even discussed suspension. $2500 at least to get the Z where the YFZ comes stock. It's WAY better, and lighter.
