bent steering colum or what on a 2002 raptor
#1
Hey guys maybe you can help me out. i was riding my raptor today at about 15-20mph maybe slower then that when my right wheel hit a tree causing me to come to a sudden stop obvious, it did not seem like a hard impact but i noticed besides my oem bumber being bent that now my handle bars seem to be pointing in the wrong direction pointing towards the left as my wheels are pointed straight, i checked everything over and everything looked normal except the handlebars pointing to the left while the wheels are straight what could this be?

Youve got to align everything back. I had a bad wreck and my wheels where all messed up, I just had THREAT Racing align it back. Everything is fine now, but for some reason when I turn right, it doesnt turn as well as when I turn left, maybe something is bent

Its either the stem twisted, the knuckle at the bottom of the stem or the tierod or ends.
Straighten the bars and look through the front at the lower knuckle on the steering stem, see if its straight, sometimes one side or the other bends up. If its straight then look at the tierod ends very closely from different angles and compare them to the others, sometimes its hard to discern if they are bent when they bend end up or down and not forward or aft.

i notice when my handlebars are straight the wheels are pointing to the right. it is the right wheel that had the impact. when i have the wheels straight it looks as if the lower knuckle is straight also, but the handlebars are not, what could be wrong? checked the tierods and they look fine also checked entire front end there is no visable damage at all. it is just like the handle bars and steering colum need to be realigned could that be possible? i also notice under the handle bars is a plasic cap over top of the steering column what is this and is there an adjustment under that cap?
