Default pipe springs on a shee?

Just installed t-5 on quad today, and noticed that the bottem springs that help hold it up have wore off the chrome and started to eat away at the pipes!! I just bought them!! Anyone else have this problem or know of how to fix it? I was thinking of some high temp. rubber and wrap a small piece around the spring so it wouldn't rub all the time! What ya' all think?

I have the T6's and they don't have this issue. But I would think even wrapping the spring with High temp tape would work too.
