YZFBlaster, wouldn't say it is ***** as much as not wanting to wreck my 4 mo. old quad.

Do you guys shift during the long wheelies or, just pick a gear and, balance it all the way through w/ steady throttle?

 

I went through about 5 or 6 grab bars learning, but once you learn the balance point and how the bike responds when it is up and down you should not ever hit it unintentionally. If i am goin to do a long wheelie i will pick it up in 2nd or 3rd and just stay steady on the throttle and use your body to control the balance, i generally dont shift!!!

I just never did see the fun in it?

My brother and his friends watch the STAR BOYZ videos and take to mind that they can accomplish the same on four-wheelers and they end up doing a sweet job doing the feet over the handle bars for about 200 yards. I will let them do the crazy stuff my insurance here at work just went up $45 dollars to $120 a week.

And the longest wheelie I have seen in person was about 300 to 400 yards from a guy on a three wheeler.

Some people dont have fun doin wheelies, i guess it just seems boring and repeditive to them, but i like wheelies like most everyone on here likes drag racing. To me people that drag race are in a "rat race" tryin to keep up with the latest and coolest new mods, dont get me wrong i like to go fast but i am not goin to spend two or three thousand dollars to make a non street legal vehicle go faster, i do like to watch drag racing but 4wheelers that are modified to drag race are only good for that one thing, i like to be able to go out and have fun and not worry about it breakin down, overheating, or scratching the damn thing. I ride to have fun so if you definition of fun is dumpin alot of money into a 4wheeler to go in a straight line than knock yourself out, it does not take much to entertain me so wheelies and piece of sh*t 4wheelers will do it for me, (that is why i got a raptor!!!)

 

Last winter I did a wheelie across a local lake on my buddy's 400EX. I went from one shore and I had to hit the brakes on the other end.... That's about 2 miles... No lies.
