I'm thinking about getting the GYTR slip-on for my Y because I can slip in the quiet core. Just wondering what others have experienced with this slip on and the GYTR jetting kit. Some have said the GYTR kit doesn't have a big enough main jet for other pipes, what about the GYTR? Opinions, experience?

These are my settings. I'm at 1000' with 165 main, 45 pilot, 2 turns on pilot screw, clip on the 3rd slot down and I have removed the lid, cam mod, and full GYT-R exhaust. It is running a little rich. Hope this helps.

I have the same setup at the same elevation and I'm running too lean. It wasn't too bad at 1000' but when I went to the dunes it was way lean. I'm going to try 175 main, 5th clip position, 48 pilot, and 2 turns out tomorrow. Everyone has there own opinion on jetting but I am having no luck with the smaller sizes so I'm going up. The damn jetting screwed up my whole dune trip

Pudl

If you are going that way mate, don't get the carbon version I've heard of too many hassles.
As they are all rated the same hp I would go the alloy version.

Crash929, mate I hope you know of 2 other forum sites that have awesome tuning info.
If not just ask and I'll pm you.

Geoff.

Yeah, please send me any info you can on the subject. Its driving me nuts!!! I have tried the way I read on another forum and it didn't work. I'm now going to try daddogg's jetting suggestions. If that doesn't work, I'm sending the YFZ to the scrap yard!! J/K

Crash,
as this site will not allow other sites to be posted, put your email up and I'll send them to you.
You are heading the right way with trying bigger jets.

Thanks aussie and everyone. Aussie, what is your jetting set at? I'm not going to get a full system cause I don't need the hp, I just want the tourqe, and I don't see a benefit to the money spend on a header when it won't do a whole lot for you without engine mods. I was looking at just the aluminum one. That way if it does fall apart, I'm not out all the money for the added glitter! Besides, when I make a pass, there just isn't time for the guy behind me to admire the pipe, It's like watching a deer jump a fence, a blip of the white tail and I'm gone

pudl,

sea level, 172m, 45 p, 3rd pos on the gytr neddle, 2.5 turns out.
Next week, pd & k/n go in, so will need to rejet, this time with the help of a dyno.

Mnrap,
mate 1 report of poor quality, 3 of the carbon going soft in different areas.
Would reccomend what pudl is doing, alloy version.

ps, broke my collar bone today, hit a hay bale with onefront wheel, threw me over with the 450 following & landing on my back.

Geoff.
