i have a friend and he said he test rode the yfz and 400ex and he said the 400ex was better. he said the yfz seemed boggy to him. how is that possible all i hear in magazines is that its the number one quad out now. wait till the 450r though i bet that will smoke them all if its anything like the 250r. hehe

He may mean that it doesn't like to putt around. I own a YFZ450, and not a 400ex, but I know the YFZ likes to go fast. Its not the quad you want to putt around in an enjoy the scenery with. You can stall it pretty easy at low speeds IMHO. That's what he may mean.

 

I have a bone stock YFZ, one of my best friends has a very modded 400ex (still 400, no stroke) and in a straight line I smoke him.... he is a much better rider than I am though so when we hit the technical riding he leaves me behind even though the YFZ is a much better designed quad. If you aren't just going straight, rider has everything to do with performance. Sounds like your friend is such a believer in Honda that he wouldn't be able to judge the difference between a 400ex and the space shuttle... blind loyalty can really make a fool out of you.

 

im so sick of idiots saying that the yfz sucks or that the trx450r is going to smoke it. Quit comparing quads that arent out yet. Quit comparing quads that arent even comparable (400ex to yfz450)

needforspeed your friend must be a total retard because the yfz450 is a whole $hit load faster then a 400ex

 

dude, no kidding. I have been a loyal honda fan, I have nothing against honda, they make a good machine, but In all honestly, I really dont think that honda is going to be better in any way, over the yfz. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Theres nothing really neat about the honda. I think it will be the closest in comparison to the yfz, but not better.
And really, I dont care what you do to a 400ex, bore it, what ever, it is NOT going to touch a yfz. If your buddy is beating you, then its YOU that he is beating, not the quad! In a straight line you shouldn't just beat a 400ex, you should destroy a 400ex. Just get a little time on that thing and you'll know what I am talkin about, you have a hell of a quad buddy!
