Default Warrior Oiling

Well, a few days ago i was riding my warrior, and started noticing a faint ticking noise that varied in speed along with engine rpms. I thought it was maybe an exhaust leak, but couldn't detect one. well, i rode it back home, and the next day i gave it an oil & filter change. Rode it, and it is still ticking. It sounds like a car's lifters when it runs out of oil.......... so im afraid it could be the oil pump. Anybody had any similar experiences? thank it could be anything else?? Thanks for your help,

Joseph

When was the last time you had the valves adjusted?

Yeah check your valve clearence. Warriors always have a ticking but if you noticed it get louder chances are your valves need adjusted

Stop riding it now and pop off a valve cover, get a flashlight, and sneek a peek at the cam. Mine did that when my oil pump went out. If you keep riding it and thats the problem youll nuke your topend fast. Riding it a lil scratches it up, riding it alot melts it (cam rockers etc..) You could just losen the oil check screw on the head but that wouldnt tell you if there was a clog somewhere in the head. If it all looks good in there just double check the valve adjusters.

Im not sure but I think my oil pump either died from my tranny falling apart and sending shrapnel in or maybe being overreved. It did love to rev to the moon.
