As you can see by my decription below this might help answer my question. Right now i have a 12 sproket on front which makes 1st pretty much useless but it will allow me start start in secound with these engine mods. I am wondering if i should put on a 14 sproket and start in first? The 14 seems to me would create a stronger start but i would like your opinons. One more thing, where we race it is up hill. thanks

depending on what hill and your weight i like the 13/40 combo or the 14/40 combo for that kit,i believe that you will be able to pull third pretty quick up a hill but the 12 toothe might be good for flat drags..

You should have no problems pulling the 14 and this eliminates extra shifting.

Starting in second eliminates the possibility of hitting neutral also...

I hate neutral. I feel like the biggest idiot in a race when I slam it into nuetral, im sure everyone in front of me is laughing at me

All I do is ride in the dunes and race up hills, check out my gearing (14/40 if you didn't see it in the sig). So far it's workin great but I'm debuting gearing down just a titch bit more so I can get a better start in 2nd. As of right now I can start in 2nd and usually do but it bogs slightly when I drop the clutch.
