Cracked YFZ Frames????
#1
A friend who has a YFZ said he has heard that the frames are cracking around the footpeg mounts and shock mounts (didn't specify front or rear???). I have not followed the YFZ closely, so I could have missed posts if there were some. Anybody out there with a cracked frame???? Maybe it would be good to take a real close look, while your bikes are still on warranty.

CLASSIC!!! The YFZ gets a crack in the frame and it's no big deal. The Z gets a crack and it's a weak piece of shiz!!!! Not saying that either is a POS, I think both are great quads. I just find it funny that for the YFZ it's acceptable and for the Z it makes the whole thing a POS!!! I'm not sayin' you guys bashed the Z, but there were a whole crapload of people who did.
I totally agree that if you ride anything hard enough something is gonna give, but it doesn't make it a POS!! Sorry, just had to get that off my chest

Well, I think it is because this is very early for the yfz. I have only heard of two cases so far and like I said before I have never seen a picture yet.
I think it is inherent with a light machine, steel is heavy and in order to make it light they either use less steel tubing, or a thinner wall. Time will tell if it is a real problem or just a few that have been beat hard.
And I agree if you beat something hard it will give, and no neither machine is a peice of ****, matter of fact I think both are extrememly nice machines.

There will always be something breaking on every quad, im sure people let people know when something happens to a new quad, then it gets blown out of proportion. Though I wouldn't be suprised if this turns into a raptor tranny thing and someone starts a web page for all the poor people who had 01's. Lets wait and see before we say the frame is weak. See how many people it really happens to, cause right now, i only see, "a friends frame" or "i know a guy who knows a guy"
