Default Jetting again

Relative newbie to dirt riding, been riding street bikes for about 10 yrs.Started with a 400ex and recently purchased a YFZ(ex got stolen).I recently installed a Yosh full Ti system and got the Tec kit with it.I was wondering if someone would be willing to give me a step by step lesson on jetting it.It runs ok right now with the stock jetting, just a little rich.Choking it will cause it to die,but it runs great all the way to the rev limiter.I would like to know what kind of run through the gears I should make between making jetting changes and checking the plug for the right color.I've got a service manual so tear down won't be a prob.I live in Illinois and the highest point in the state is 1200ft.
I was also wondering if I installed a Dial a Jet,if I could just adjust it when switching from the least restrictive muffler tip to the most restrictive tip.Sorry for the long post, but this site seems to have a lot of knowledgable and experienced people.Just trying to learn more stuff about the sport and my equipment. Thanks

oh and if you have not got a jet kit yet dont buy one..there are to many jet sizes you wont use...call up alba action sports, there on the web...they will sell you any size jet you need...if i was you i would by a 45pilot and get a few diff main jet sizes like a 165 168 170 ..if you use the stock needle move the clip to #5 ..if you do more mods you may have to get a bigger main jet..but just go read that web site and all your jetting info is there for the yfz450...

Hey man thanks a lot.I'll check out the site.My local dealer will sell me individual jets for it for around $5.00 so that won't be a problem.

Default Jetting again

Installed a 168 main,45 pilot and moved needle to the #5 position(3rd from bottom).Sound 'bout right,or at least a good starting point?Gonna try it out tonight. Thanks for the help, this was the first time for me tearing a carb apart.Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Default Jetting again

Tested Yesterday.Made my run,Pulled the clutch in and hit the kill switch at the same time.Checked the plug and it was white with just a hint of tan.Gonna put the 170 main in and try again.Does this sound like the right thing to try or should I do other things differently?
