Into banshee carbs I go
#1
I think I gotta problem with the carbs or jetting I am gonna star by cleaning them out good to make sure there is no dirt. But I need to know what to look for and what all I should just go ahead and change out while Im in. What should I have in there as far as jets go. I know it has something to do with the elevation as to what size jets you need. My elevation is I think4000 ft I live in Utah. Does any body know?

More info is needed. Is the bike stock? Does it have an airbox, etc. The info will only give a good starting point as every bike is different. What you are going to look for is dirt naturally, especially in the jets and carb passages. Check and adjust your float level. Make sure the needle and seat are in good shape and not distorted or worn. Check for worn slide needles. If nothing has changed on the bike and it just started running poorly when it use to run fine then I would not say that it is a jetting issue. You may just need a good cleaning. Pick up some spray carb cleaner and spray it through all of the little passages and jets. Check for cracks or tears in the air boots as well. Also while you are in there it would not hurt to run a compression check as two strokes wear consierably faster than four strokes do. Personally I would rebuild my top ends about once a year but I ride alot and in not so favorable conditions.
