Y does everyone bash the predator? theyre pretty fast! first one i raced was up a pretty tall sand hill and he stayed about 2 bikes behind me the whole way, I didnt have my ported cylinder yet but it was a 275-278cc so it was pretty fast. I was taking raptors all day long on that hill with no prob. I had paddles and he was still on his stock razrs and kept up. Dont underestimate that bike, if he gets u on the hole shot he will take u.

 

I wish someone would build a predator and come play. No one around here is interested in buying or building one. There is not even much intrest in them on the polaris forum. I would be afraid to build one. They seem to have there share of problems with tranny and stuff stock. Add 20 more hp to the equation and it is a recipe for failure

 

Crackhead I saw a trx 250 at dumont, he was pritty quick. 14min, isnt there one guy out there with a pritty fast pred, thought there was a post about him a few weeks back, something like "no four stroke has ever beat him" or something. I don't know They seem like pritty descent quads at the dunes, wish I knew how fast they were modded

 

With the stock set-up you cannot powershift the Predator....Polaris has too overcome some serious tranny problems soon too say the least (with the stock Predator engine). After sitting on one, the seat-tank junction is a mile wide (compared the the RAPTOR)....after getting off I walked like a cowboy for several steps....LMAO! The headpipe instantly starts rusting when it leaves the dealership too. BUT, IMO the quad looks nice and I have heard of no engine failures.

 

Garyc660r, Your only route is to spend the cash and put in a whole 02' tranny (gears and forks) and don't forget to put in a starter gear and reverse clutch (on the starter gear). It will cost about a grand, but putting in 01' parts will continue to put you on the same road.

Slap that Predator around a bit. Ever notice everyone wants to race the Raptor? It's the benchmark! Sorry Predator owners, in the sand, 2-3 quad lengths on the slower revving 4-strokes might as well be a mile. Haha, you're not as close as you think!

tranny problems and power shifting has been fixed in 04 models... and as for the revs.. your extra 160cc's even that out.

The pred dose good for a 500cc and the probs it has...."ALL QUADS HAVE PROBS" It should be a close race!
Second, thing some of you need to grow up, who cares who wins, Riding Quads is supposed to be fun, A time to get out and tare it up, not fight who's got a faster quad.... There will always be a loser and a winer.... After you guys race, go home watch TV and have a few beers!!!
