wheelie on a banshee
#12
Heres how i wheelie my banshee: just put it in second at about 1/2 or 1/4 throttle, lift your butt off the seat about 3 or 5 inches, come down on the seat with a little force and hit the throttle, it makes mine stand up, but i can only ride it from 2nd to 3rd gear. i can also ride extremely slow wheelies standing on the grabbar.

Yeah, Banshee's can be a pain because you have to be at the right RPM's and you have to be able to get traction. A lot of it is purely technique depending on the bike you are riding.
When my Banshee was stock I could pull it up on flat ground in 1-4th....I could pull it up in 5th about 2 ft, but couldn't get it to balance point on a flat. Cresting a hill I had done them in 5th and 6th. My buddy who also had a shee, could only pull it up in 1st or 2nd.....I know it was his problem, not the quads.
I put full FMF pipes on mine and you could tell they were surely top end pipes....what it basically did was move my powerband higher in the RPM range and give it a harder hit. Right after I got my pipes on it the highest gear I could pick up a wheelie in was 3rd...it was because I was so used to the way it developed before my timing and pull was way off. After a few times riding it I could then pull it up in 4th again.
But yeah, as the other guys said, actually picking up AND RIDING a wheelie on a Banshee can be a pain because they are so touchy. Practice makes perfect though.

yeah - if you want to get him to start building up his 'wheelie talent',
have him start at slower speeds and:
keep one foot down on the nerf/peg
put his right knee on the seat and his foot towards the grab
bar where it is comfortable
Do that he probably won't have to jump the clutch, all he should
have to do is hit the throttle pulling his arms up so his weight is back
towards to back end. after doing this it should be easier to feel
out how to do them without having your leg on the seat
hope this helps!
