If your just turning 15, then the 400ex would be better suited to you.

The Banshee's are reliable if you can keep up maintence on them. They are pricey to keep though.

Im 15 and have a raptor and my friend is 15 and has a shee, it really depends on your riding skills.... ive been riding for a long time so my dad felt i could ride a raptor... my cousin just turned 15 and runs a Baja DS. it also depends on what type of environment you will be riding, for woods or mx go with the 400ex... for dunes or drags or flat track i would say banshee. Just ride smart and with full protective gear and chances are slim you will get hurt.

I was 14 when i got my banshee after i had my 300ex, i could handle the power, but it was definatly a change. You should be able to handle it. As for reliability, it is very good If you do the reg. maintanence, and you only need to bore it up about once every 7 years.

I agree with the 400 being a better beginner quad. What I dont agree on is the maintenence thing. A stock Banshee is as bullet-proof as any other quad out there. The engine design is older than any other quad motor. Even a piped one will run for 2 years or more before requiring rings which is a joke at best to do. They are pricey to keep only if they are modded to run good or if you like to buy some of the bazillion aftermarket aluminum parts. Mine runs 4.8's in 300ft, is completely rideable and duneable, and had one set of rings put in over a years worth of riding. It gets taken well care of, but doesnt get any slack when my 200lb *** is on it.
