Raptor Problem
#1
I have had my Raptor for 6 Months now and I wanted more Top Speed so I went and bought a 14 tooth Front Sprocket and I kept the rear the same. My quad is stock. It was doing 77 Stock then I put a 14 tooth on and now it is only doing 73. Everyone said it is suppose to go faster when u go up to a 14 in the front. I have no idea whats going on. Anyone know anything about it. please write back thanks

This is not a surprise....especuially with the overdrive 5th gear ratio of the Raptor. Your engine must have enough high RPM power too actually "pull" the higher gearing for more peak HPM. This is a classic example of more gearing will not necessarily create more top speed. Your Raptor may actually have a higher top speed with a 12 tooth front with all else the same...

You will need other mods like the others have stated. You dont have the power to pull a higher top end speed, not many raptors can top out in 5th in stock config.
Most people change sprockets to move shiftpoints or get more useable power on a certain terrain or at specific speeds.

try a 41 tooth rear sprocket with that 14 it will make alot of diff and youl be able to produce more rpms therefore more top speed and still have a little taller gearing than stock
