Default making the raptor faster

I just got an 04 raptor and want to make it faster. It seems a lot of people like the Yoshimura exhaust. I found the complete kit with k&n filter and main jets for $470 from moto-man.com. Has anyone found something better for cheaper? I also heard of guys changing to 12/42 gearing. What will this do? Your input is appreciated.

I have the full Yoshi and like it, but others like what they have too (sparks, MBRP etc). I have the Yoshi because I could use the stock heat sheilds and it does perform well. As for the 12/42 gearing is what allot of us use in sand. You loose a little top end but the bottom is great for dune riding and drags up hill. It's all what you like and how you ride. JM.02W.

That price is probably for a slip-on and the filter is probably the stock replacment type K&N. Not a good deal. IMO

they actually have a slip on kit for $449. 470 is the compition kit, I'm not sure about the filter though. It says w/ SA..... what does that mean?

Do you know if it's a jet kit or do they just give you a couple of main jets. That would be a good price if it's a full system but I would get a different filter set up, a pro-flow so you can remove the lid if you want and the filters clamp on, the stock way the filter seals is no good. Or get an adapter like I make that uses dual K&Ns and eliminates the air box all together.

It sound like a couple of main jets. I should give them a call and find out exactly what they have. Im looking to spend around $600 for exhaust/ filters and a swing arm skid. Just trying to find the most bang for my buck.

I don't blame ya. Calling would be a good idea. Yosh made some pipes a while back that didn't have a spark arrester and where selling for a good price. So beware, what they have in the ad may be one of those and the higher priced one is the updated one with spark arrester but no head pipe. I don't know.
PRM makes a great swing arm skid for the money.
